Hyperlinks in PowerPoint
There are several types of links in PowerPoint. These types are:
- Link to a Web Page
- Link to a File
- Link to Another Slide in the Presentation

To create a link to a web page:
- Highlight the text you wish to turn into a link
- Right-click the highlighted text and select hyperlink from the contextual menu

- The Insert Hyperlink dialog box will appear. Select Existing File or Web page from the Link to: menu on the left.
- Type the address of the website you wish to link to in the address bar at the bottom of the dialog. Make sure to format the link like a web address (http://www.ualr.edu).

To create a link to a file:
- Highlight the text you wish to turn into a link
- Right-click the highlighted text and select hyperlink from the contextual menu

- The Insert Hyperlink dialog box will appear. Select Existing File or Web page from the Link to: menu on the left.
- Browse to the file on your computer and press OK

To Create a Link to Another Slide in the Presentation
- Highlight the text you wish to turn into a link
- Right-click the highlighted text and select hyperlink from the contextual menu

- The Insert Hyperlink dialog box will appear. Place in this document menu on the left
- Select the slide you wish to link to and press ok
