Better Single Than Sorry:
A No-Regrets Guide to Loving Yourself and Never Settling by Jen Schefft
Wednesday, November 11, 2009 - 12:15 pm
Donaghey Student Center Leadership Lounge

Let’s be honest. No woman really wants to be alone for the rest of her life. But does being alone mean you’re doomed to be miserable forever? Definitely not! And does being single have to equal lonely? No way! You can have the best time of your life when you’re single, but you wouldn’t know that from our relationship obsessed society, where celebrity magazines devote the majority of their content to who’s dating whom and the wedding industry is a $100-billion business. Yet more than a third of marriages end in divorce, and countless other couples languish in unions that shouldn’t have happened in the first place.

Don’t become a statistic—love yourself and never settle!

Free copies of this book are available to the first 30 people attending the event.

Donaghey Student Center Ledbetter Room A

FBI agents (BRUCE WILLIS and RADHA MITCHELL) investigate the mysterious murder of a college student linked to the man who helped create a high-tech surrogate phenomenon that allows people to purchase unflawed robotic versions of themselves – fit, good looking remotely controlled machines that ultimately assume their life roles – enabling people to experience life vicariously from the comfort and safety of their own homes. The murder spawns a quest for answers: in a world of masks, who’s real and who can you trust?

Making Relationships Matter with The Dating Doctor

Thursday, February 25, 2010 - 12:00 pm (noon)
Donaghey Student Center Ledbetter Rooms B & C

David Coleman “The Dating Doctor” presents Making Relationships Matter:
After the text messages, IM’s, email, pokes, winks, chats and videos have ended…a couple will ultimately have to meet face-to-face if they want things to progress further. Then, they must rely upon the interpersonal skills they have (or have not) developed and rely on the experience (or lack thereof) they have from previous relationships. Reporting “on-line” to be “in a relationship” is a far cry from actually being involved in one. Interacting in person with a potential love interest is becoming increasingly harder for people as much of their initial contact is electronic-based and buffered. 11-Time National Campus Speaker of the Year, David Coleman, in a humorous, yet challenging manner, will show you how to form, mend and healthy relationships. He will cover: Who controls relationships and why, why pick up lines fail, subtle signs we exhibit when romantically interested in someone, profound differences between men and women, The ABC’s of Initial Interest, the five stages of relationships, the characteristics of healthy relationships, taking a break, breaking up, long-distance relationships and much more. If you are easily offended or fearful of the truth, this show may not be for you.
