Prospective Students

Application deadlines and required supporting documents vary from program to program.

To request information regarding a specific program, please fill out the following "Prospective Student" form. Your request will be forwarded to your desired program of interest. Prospective Student Form.

Admission requirements

Please read all instructions before completing the online application form

Qualifications:

An applicant to a master's program must hold a baccalaureate degree from an accredited institution with substantially the same undergraduate program as the University of Arkansas at Little Rock

An applicant to the educational specialist or doctoral programs must hold a master's degree from an accredited institution with a GPA and examination score stipulated by the program to which the individual is applying.

All applicants must submit:

  • a complete application form. Found online at http://boss.ualr.edu
  • proof of immunization - Arkansas law requirs that all students born on or after January 1, 1957 provide proof of immunization against measles, mumps, and rubella. Applicants to online degree programs are not required to submit proof of immunization
  • official transcripts from all previously attended colleges and universities. Transcripts must be in the sealed envelope from the university in order to be considered official. Please mail transcripts to:

  • test scores taken within the last five years, when required by individual programs

Graduate Assistantships

Students must be fully admitted to a degree seeking program to be eligible for a Graduate Assistantship. Students with conditional admission or who are admitted to a graduate certificate program are not eligible for graduate assistantships. To apply for a Graduate Assistantship, click here.


Transient Students

Transient students need only provide a letter of good standing from the current graduate school. Transient students taking education courses must also submit an unofficial copy of the transcript showing degree and GPA.
Transient students are not required to submit proof of immunization.

Non-Degree Seeking Students

Non-degree seeking students must also submit official transcripts and proof of immunization. Students wanting to take education courses must also submit copies of current standard teaching certificates.

A non-degree seeking student is limited to a total of 12 graduate hours. For education courses, the limit is 6 graduate hours. Once this limit has been reached, a student must be admitted into a degree seeking program to continue taking classes.

Not all programs allow non-degree seeking studnets to take courses. Please contact the appropriate department for permission to enroll.

Non-degree seeking students are not eligible for financial aid. In order to receive financial aid, a student must be admitted into a degree-seeking program
