CELL PHONES: Turn your cell phone off, or on vibrate. Leave the class room if a call is received.

CHEATING: Academic integrity is expected of all university students. Cheating, as well as allowing someone to copy your work, is unethical and moraly abhorant. Cheating will not be tolerated and will be handled according to the rules of the University. If you are aware of cheating, it is your obligation to report this to the instructor.

GRADING: Projects will be assigned, will be converted into a percentage (out of 100), and will be worth about one-third of the grade. The tests will be worth the rest the grade. Letter grades are: 90 and up is a A; 80-89 is B; 70-79 is C; 60-69 is D; below 60 is F. Attendance will be a factor if a grade is borderline. Grades are final when computed after the final exam. If you're not taking this for a grade, see the Registrar and switch to "AUDIT".

GRADING - "WHAT'S MY GRADE": Remember to look on Blackboard. Project papers and test papers will generally be returned within a week after the project was due. Most projects must be required to be turned in via Blackboard. All grades will be reported on Blackboard, so look there to find out your grade (BB.UALR.EDU). At the end of the semester, to see final grades, go to Boss.UALR.EDU.

INCOMPLETES: Incompletes are given only in case of emergencies. Students receiving an incomplete will be given 90 days to fulfill remaining requirements.

MEETINGS WITH THE INSTRUCTOR: Contact the instructor either in person or via email to set up an appointment. Meetings are either in the classroom or in the office at the Computer Science Dept. 5th floor of the EIT Building.

PROJECTS: Assigned projects are to be turned in within two weeks of the assignment. Most projects can be done in class. If your project is turned in late, it may or may not be accepted, and if accepted the grade may be reduced. Please retain copies of projects on a flash drive or other storage.

TESTS: Two tests are given as indicated on the schedule. You must be in the classroom for each scheduled test. Makeup tests are only given if you have a valid reason to miss a test, and then only if the student has taken the responsibility of making advance arrangements prior to the test. Otherwise, you forfeit the test and get no points.

STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES: It is the policy of UALR to accommodate students with disabilities, pursuant to federal and state law. Any student with a disability who needs accommodation, for example, in seating placement or in arrangements for examinations, should inform the instructor at the beginning of the course. The chair of the department offering this course also is available to assist with accommodations. Students with disabilities are encouraged to contact Disability Support Services, located in the Donaghey Student Center, Room 103, telephone 569-3143.
