Building a Photo Album

What you'll need for this exercise.

  • A Collection of Photos in the same folder (Download Photos)
  • Audio or Video if you would like to use it
  • Microsoft Powerpoint

Building the Album

  1. Open PowerPoint
  2. From the Insert Menu select Picture>Photo Album
  3. Select Insert Picture from File/Disk
  4. Browse to the folder where your stored the presentation images
  5. To select all images from the folder, single click the first image while holding down the shift key. While holding the shift key, click the last image in the series and then click insert. Your Screen Should now look like this...

  1. At this point you can reorder images, remove images, adjust individual image orientation, brightness, and contrast. You can also insert text slides, Add captions, render in Black and White.
  2. Once you have all of the images reorder and optimized select a frame shape and picture layout.
  3. Press Create. You will now have a presentation with multiple slides containing Pictures and Title Slides
  4. Name the presentation and its sub-sections
  5. Select a design from the slide design library
  6. Save the file.

Animation and Automation

  1. Select the Slide Transition Menu
  2. Select a transition effect to use throughout the presentation.
  3. Set the advance slide options to Automatically after 5 seconds.
  4. Press apply to all slides
  5. Save the Presentation
  6. Preview Presentation

Next Steps

Next we'll add Audio and Video and Save the presentation in a stand-alone format. If you would like to create your own presentation collect some pictures and bring them with you to class next week.
