A technology to display photos online
In this example I will show you how to create and embed a Picassa photo gallery on you web site.
- Download and install Picassa Helper Application. This is already installed on the classroom computers.
- Open Picassa. You will be prompted for your Google Account Information. If you have not used Picassa before you will be prompted to activate your account.
- Select Import from the top left of the application and select your input source (Camera or Folder) See #1 & #2 below.
- Browse to the folder you just imported and then select Web Album from the menu across the bottom of the application
- Fill in the details for the Album.
- Press ok after you have filled out the details. This will upload the photos to your online gallery.
Embedding Slideshows in Your Web Site
- Click on the Web Albums link in the top right hand corner of the Picassa application. This will open up your web browser and display you newly upload photos. This can also be accessed by selecting Photos from the top of the screen when you are logged into you google account.
- Double-click on the gallery you wish to display on your site.
- Select Embed Slidshow from the menu on the left.
- Choose the options for the show
- Copy the embed code and paste it in you HTML on the page you would like it to display.
- That's all folks.
