Defining a Site in Dreamweaver / Connecting to the UALR Web server

  1. Screenshot Manage SitesOpen Dreamweaver and under the Site menu select Manage Sites. See Screenshot 1

  2. Select New to create a new site

  3. Select the Advanced Tab and make sure you have Local Info selected from the Category menu. Name the site and set the default file and images directories. See Screenshot 2

  4. Screen Capture Define Local Site Make Sure you check the following entries

    • Links relative to document
    • Case-Sensitive Links and Enable Cache
  5. In the HTTP address field enter http://www.ualr.edu/username where use name equals the username I provide you with. This is also your web address.

  6. Screen Capture RemoteSelect Remote Info from the Category menu and set Access to FTP. See Screenshot 3

    • FTP Host: www.ualr.edu
    • Host Directory: Blank
    • Login: Students\User Name
    • Password: Your Password
  7. Click the test button – you should receive a message that tells you you have been successful in connecting to the server
