Creating Shapes in Fireworks

1. Open Fireworks
2. From the File menu - Select New
3. Set the Canvas Size to 800x500 and Resolution to 72 Pixels per Inch
4. Set the Canvas Color to White
5. Press Ok

6. From the Tools Menu Select the Rectangle tool
7. With the Rectangle tool selected draw a rectangle on the canvas.
8. Using the Properties Inspector Set the Fill Color to #990000 (Red) and the Border Color to #000000 (Black)
9. Set the Width to 160 and the Height 100
10. Repeat these steps for each of the available shapes (Arrow, Spiral, Star etc.), using different colors, dimensions, textures, and Fill options
11. Have Fun.

When you complete this exercise you should have a canvas that looks something like this.
