Whether you are undergraduate student at UALR or a graduate student (MS, AuD, or PhD), the AERL provides several potential opportunities to get involved in research. At the AERL, we often have several projects at different stages. Some of the projects we are currently working on are listed on the Research page (
click here).As you consider joining the lab, it may help to explain some of the basic stages in research and list some of the potential benefits to joining. Relevant internet links are also provided.
Stages of a Research Project

1. Define the research question.
2. Review and critique the relevant literature.
3. Design a scientifically rigorous study that could be feasibly completed.
4. Develop (or locate) reliable measurement tools.
5. Obtain institutional approval.
6. Collect data.
7. Analyze results.
8. Present findings locally and/or nationally.
9. Publish results in a peer-reviewed journal.
