Scholarships

Scholarships forms will be available March 1

Scholarship nominations must be made by a teacher, principal, or counselor. There are no exceptions.

Students must apply and be accepted into the program before their scholarship nomination will be reviewed.

This form is two sided and requires additional information to be sent in with it.

Scholarships:
Partial scholarships of $200 will be awarded to students who demonstrate both financial need and academic merit.

Martha Gaunt Bass Scholarship:

Martha Gaunt Bass was a leader in Education. Her many accomplishments include

  • A masters degree project that led to the creation of the Summer Laureate program at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock,
  • Serving as the Administrator of Gifted Programs for the Arkansas Department of Education,
  • Serving as a member of the Women’s Emergency committee, the political organization that worked to reopen and support Little Rock Public Schools following the 1958 desegregation crisis.

In collaboration with the family of Martha Gaunt Bass and the UALR Center for Gifted Education, the University of Arkansas at Little Rock Office of Development has established an endowed scholarship. The scholarship is for a child attending Summer Laureate University for Youth.
