Enabling Java & Setting Cache in Browsers on PC/MAC

Enabling Java in Internet Explorer 5.0 (and higher) for the PC

Select Tools: Internet Options... Internet Options
Select the Advanced tab Advanced Tab
Locate Java VM
(may be called Microsoft VM in some)
You will probably have to scroll down.

Make sure the Java console enabled and Java logging enabled boxes are checked.

Click OK.

Restart your computer if you checked the Java console enabled box.

 

Setting Your Cache in Internet Explorer 5.0 (and higher) for your PC

Select Tools: Internet Options... Internet Options
Select the General tab

Select Settings from Temporary Internet files
General Tab - Settings
Select the Every visit to the page radio button

Click OK

Enabling Java in Netscape 7.0 (and higher) for the PC

Select Edit: Preferences... Netscape Preferences

Select Advanced

Make sure the Enable Java box is checked

Click OK.

Enabling JavaScript in Netscape 7.0 (and higher) for the PC

Select Edit: Preferences... Netscape Preferences

Click the sign next to Advanced to see more options and select Scripts & Plugins

Check Enable JavaScript for Navigator box. Make sure Read cookies is checked.

Click OK.

Setting Your Cache in Netscape 7.0 (and higher) for the PC

Select Edit: Preferences... Netscape Preferences

Click the sign next to Advanced to see more options

Select Cache

Select the Every time I view the page radio button

Click OK.

Browser Settings for Internet Explorer on the Mac

Select Edit: Preferences... Preferences - Macintosh Internet Explorer

Select Java

Make sure Enable Java box is checked.

Select the Advanced option

Under Cache make sure the Always radio button is selected.

Click OK.

Browser Settings for Netscape on the Mac

Select Edit: Preferences... Preferences - Macintosh Netscape

Select Advanced

Make sure the Enable Java and Enable JavaScript are checked

Select Cache
