Research Interests

 

Dr. Sharma’s highly interdisciplinary research interests encompass materials science, electrostatics, and particulate technology. He developed an atmospheric pressure plasma reactor for surface modification of materials in a variety of applications. Currently, he is working on synergistic coupling of plasma processes and nanostructured materials for photoelectrochemical processes. He is also working on development of an electrodynamic screen for dust mitigation application for future Mars and Lunar missions. He has authored or co-authored over 60 publications and presented his research in 20 international conferences and symposia.

Dr. Sharma serves as session chair and paper review manager for Electrostatic Processes Committee of IEEE Industry Applications Society. He was elected as the Adjunct Secretary of the Electrostatic Processes Committee of the IEEE Industry Applications Society in 2007. Currently, he is also serving as Associate Editor of the IEEE Transactions on Industry Applications.
