Grading is done on this basis: Average Letter Grade
4 Exams @ 100 points 400 points 90-100 A
Quizzes & in-class work 150 points 80-89 B
Laboratory (2.5 x lab avg) 250 points 70-79 C
Final Exam 200 points 60-69 D
Total Points possible 1000 Below 60 F
Attendance is required at ALL class and laboratory sessions as scheduled. Failure to attend lab and to complete lab assignments is just cause for failure of ENTIRE course. Chemistry Department Policy states that missing three (3) or more lab sessions constitutes failure of the entire course. You may expect a quiz at any lecture period. Quizzes and in-class assignments MAY NOT be made up. ONE missed Exam may be made up on Consultation Day, Wednesday, December 13 by appointment with Professor. The makeup exam will be one hour and comprehensive.
