Dr. Yoder
The slots for the reading assignments are for the moment blank because I am going to allow the students to set the agenda for the class, more or less. That is, each student will choose an album for discussion, and then we shall organize those choices into chronological order for the syllabus. Your Album Review will be due the week we discuss your album. Under the best circumstances we can really expect to discuss no more than 4 or 5 songs / poems in class in a given week, probably fewer than that. I am guessing that we can probably cover 13 albums this way. We also have three guest speakers planned: Dr. Dave Jauss of the English Department and Dr. Jim Ross of the History Department (dates to be determined), and Dr. Kevin Dettmar, editor of The Cambridge Companion to Bob Dylan, on Oct. 20.
