Technology, Information, and Mentor Resources
- As a prerequisite to taking the first course online, all students will receive a technical orientation to prepare them for participating in web-based coursework. The orientation will be scheduled individually with the student prior to the beginning of the semester. - WebCT Start-up Guide: UALR online courses utilize WebCT as the coursework management software program. The start-up guide may be found at http://www.ualr.edu/scholars/files/start.html
- Technical Problems: Students experiencing technical problems with course material should contact Ms. Dawn Wolford at 501-569-8567; Email: dmwolford@ualr.edu
- Technology Mentors: Some of the program graduates and current students who utilize screen readers to access course information have offered to mentor new students having technology difficulties. New students who wish a technology mentor should contact the program coordinator, Dr. Pat Smith.
- RT Mentors: Students who are new to the field of Rehabilitation Teaching will be provided contact information for agencies and certified RT's who have expressed willingness to serve as mentors to new RT students.
- Students requiring accommodations to access the online courses and workshop activities should contact the program coordinator and UALR Disability Support Services as soon as they submit their applications to Graduate School. - The UALR Ottenheimer Library provides assistance to all UALR students accessing library resources online. Information and directions can be found on the UALR webpage, select link for Library. For individual library problems, contact Carol Macheak, 501-569-8809; Email: cimacheak@ualr.edu
- UALR Webpage: One of the quickest ways to locate specific information on the UALR Webpage is to use the search function for within the UALR website. The search link is found on the homepage, left hand side, bottom of the list.
