Greetings! Thank you for your interest in UALR. My name is Robert and I am excited that you are considering UALR as your destination for higher education. College is a very important step in your growth as a person. There is so much more to college than just classes and a degree. I learned so much about life through the organizations and activities that I participated in, such as: Sigma Phi Epsilon, University Ambassadors, SIFE, and the Wesley Foundation. You can look forward to this and much more as you begin your journey. I welcome you to read more about me and contact me for more information regarding UALR.

Hometown: Born and raised in Charleston, AR. Graduate of Charleston High School, 2002.
Hobbies: I love spending time with my family and friends. I also enjoy playing tennis and volleyball, hiking, riding my bike, and traveling as much as possible.
What I like about UALR : What I come to enjoy most about UALR is its vast array of diversity. At UALR you have an excellent opportunity to gain knowledge from people in all walks of life, from various countries, and at different periods in their lives. Also, being in the heart of the capital city provides many opportunities for volunteering, internships, and permanent job placement. The faculty and staff are well qualified, thus ensuring you the education you deserve.
Advice for prospective students: START EARLY! Most importantly- Take the ACT as many times as possible. It is key in gaining academic scholarships to help pay for college. If you plan to attend in the fall semester, apply for college, scholarships, and financial aid BEFORE the winter break. Set goals and develop a plan, and then have a back-up plan. Make sure you research the schools you are thinking of applying to and know all of the different steps to being accepted. Also, spend time thinking of what you would like to major in and find an institution that offers degree programs in what you want to study.
