Aeolus Recorder Konsort Presents a Recorder Workshop with Lisette Kielson

 

"Getting a Handle on Handel"

Ms. Kielson said:

In this workshop, we will delve into the music of George Frideric Handel. Not encouraged to pursue music as a career, Handel would not be able to devote himself to music full time until after his father passed away. Experience in depth the musical inspiration of a composer who was treasured by the English, considered a rival of the Italians and “acclaimed as a genius.”

 

The repertoire will include the following:
 

Concerto in B Flat Major (AATB)

Suite in A minor (ATB)

Suite in D minor (SATB)

The famous Water Music Suite II (SATB)

And the famous “Hallelujah Chorus” from Messiah (SATB)

The morning and afternoon sessions will be held at the Darragh Center, Main Library (Central Arkansas Library System), 100 Rock Street, Little Rock, Arkansas 72201.   Lunch is available at restaurants near the Main Library and the Clinton Presidential Center. 

Master Class with Ms. Kielson 
(Friday, August 26, 2005)

Everyone is invited to perform in the master class as soloist or as member of an ensemble.  Recorder players with all different levels of experience are invited to participate and auditors are most welcome.  The master class is scheduled for Friday, August 26, 2005, 7:00-9:00 p.m., at Grace Presbyterian Church, 9301 N.
