To encourage participation and achievement among recorder players in Central Arkansas.
To build up the membership of the Aeolus Recorder Konsort in Central Arkansas.
To recognize and honor the contributions of MaryBelle J. Nissly in teaching recorder players, establishing the Aeolus Recorder Konsort, and serving for many years as music director of the group.
One to three grants may be awarded during any calendar year, unless the Board of Directors determines that there is reason to give more in any year.
Grants will be in the amount of $100 for workshops of 4 or more days, $50 for workshops of 1 to 3 days.
Eligible workshops include any which provide instruction and consort or solo performing opportunities for recorder players.
All dues-paying members of the local society are eligible to apply for a scholarship. (for some workshops, there may be an additional discount from the American Recorder Society for its members.).
Awards will not be made to the same person in two consecutive years.
Applications shall be submitted on the approved form to the Board of Directors at least a month in advance of the workshop to attended.
The Treasurer will present a check to the applicant after the applicant's attendance at the workshop. The recipient is expected to provide a receipt or other evidence of participation in the workshop.
