Get-together with the Bella Vista Recorder Consort on
May 18, 2002
On Saturday, May 18, 2002, members of the Aeolus Recorder Konsort and the
Bella Vista Recorder Consort gathered at the Wiederkehr Winery, Altus, Arkansas,
for music-making, visiting, and fun from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.. The
lunch-break was in the Weinkeller Restaurant. Seventeen people played
recorder music, including two selections from the works of Orlando di
Lasso. These double choir pieces, which Martha Bixler introduced at the workshop
held in Little Rock, were played at the meeting on Saturday, March 9, 2002:

- Hor Che La Nuova E Vaga Primavera, for Double Choir, by Orlando

The Bella Vista Consort played the following pieces for the Aeolus Recorder
Konsort:
- Doulce Memoire, by Pierre Sandrin, for ATTB recorders.
- Recorders with Divisions, by Diego Ortiz, played on bassoon.
- Passo Media, by Anonymous, played on cornett, alto, and tenor
krummhorns.
- Country Gardens, by Percy Grainger, AATT (CB) recorders, arranged
by Hildegarde Erle.
The Aeolus Recorder Konsort played the following pieces.

- Vivo ego, dicit Dominus, by Ludwig Senfl (c. 1490-c. 1550)
- Fantasia No. 4, by William Byrd (1543-1623)
