January 2005

• Saturday, January 8: Twelfth Night Ball and Revel, The ball will be held at the Albert Pike Memorial Temple, 712 Scott Street in downtown Little Rock, Arkansas, 72201.  If you are playing for this event, would you please arrive between 6:45 and 7:00 p.m.  The Aeolus Recorder Konsort will play from 7:30 to 8:00 p.m. and during the first intermission.

    "Music from the New World"

    Ms. Bixler wrote in her letter:  "This would include music (early and contemporary) from Brazil and other South American countries, Fuguing Tunes and other vocal and instrumental pieces by the American  colonial composer William Billings, and twentieth century American recorder music by LaNoue Davenport.  I promise you that the contemporary music will all be tuneful, jolly, and not too difficult to play."

    For Saturday, March 5, we have reserved the Darragh Center auditorium in the Main Library of the Central Arkansas Library System, which is near shops, restaurants, and the William J. Clinton Presidential Center in the River Market District.  The Main Library is located at 100 Rock Street, Little Rock, AR 72201.

• Thursday, March 10: perform at a conference (Student Loan Guaranty Foundation) on Thursday, March 10, from 5:45 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., in Next Level Events (376-7700), 1400 W. Markham St., Little Rock, 72201.  They have chosen a medieval theme.
