January 2008

• Saturday, Jan. 5:  Business/planning meeting for Aeolus Recorder Konsort will be held at 5:30 p.m. at the Olive Garden restaurant on Rodney Parham Road in Little Rock.

• Sunday, January 27:  Rehearsal in the UALR Fine Arts building, choral room (FA 101A) from 2:15 to 4 pm.  (For a campus map, click here.)

March 2008

• March 2008 has been designated "Play-the-Recorder Month."

• Workshop (Friday, February 29, and Saturday, March 1, 2008) with Frances Blaker:
   
  "Music from Senfl, Scheidt, and Bach in the German Renaissance and Baroque Periods".

  • Friday, February 29: Workshop with Frances Blaker, Place: Grace Presbyterian Church, 9301 N. Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock, AR 72227, phone: 501 225-3274, Time: 7:00-9:00 p.m.

  • Saturday, March 1: Workshop with Frances Blaker, Time: 10:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Place: Darragh Center auditorium in the Main Library of the Central Arkansas Library System, which is near shops, restaurants, and the William J. Clinton Presidential Center in the River Market District.  The Main Library is located at 100 Rock Street, Little Rock, AR 72201.

• Sunday, April  6:  Rehearsal at 38 Pine Manor Drive in Little Rock from 2:15 to 4 pm.

• Friday, April 11, 1:30 p.m.:  Performance at Jefferson Elementary School, 2600 N. McKinley St., Little Rock, AR 72207, phone (501) 447-5000.  We will be playing music to celebrate Jefferson's birthday.

• Sunday, April 27:  Rehearsal in the UALR Fine Arts building, choral room (FA 101A) from 2:15 to 4 pm.  (For a campus map, click here.)

• Tuesday, April 29, 3:00 p.m.:  Performance at Presbyterian Village, 510 Brookside Drive, Little Rock, AR 72205.

May 2008

• Sunday, May 4:  Rehearsal at 38 Pine Manor Drive in Little Rock from 2:15 to 4 pm.

• Tuesday, May 6, 6:15 p.m.: Performance begins at 6:15 p.m. at  Parkway Village, 14300 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211.  (Assemble by 5:30 p.m. for tuning, etc.)

• Saturday, May 17, 10:30 a.m.: Gathering at Wiederkehr Winery with Bella Vista Recorder Consort, and all instrumental players, who enjoy playing a variety of recorder music.  We begin playing at 10:30 a.m., break for lunch at 12:30 p.m. and then play again after lunch until 3:00 or 3:30.  (Click on the link to Wiederkehr for directions to the winery and their RV park or other places to stay.)
