Master of Arts in Counseling with emphasis in Rehabilitation Counseling
- IMPORTANT TO ALL STUDENTS: UALR is beginning the process of migrating to Blackboard, a new version of our WebCT online learning system. Over the next few semesters, courses will be migrated from the WebCT to Blackboard, so you may take courses on both systems. WebCT and Blackboard are now both using your NetID username and password. Your NetID is not the same as the username you use for email or to log into Windows desktops, and your default password is not your T-number. Find your NetID and set (or reset) your password in BOSS under the ‘Personal Information > Change passwords’ tab on UALR Computing Systems screen before you attempt to login for the first time this semster.

The Master of Arts in Counseling with emphasis in Rehabilitation Counseling program, also known as the Rehabilitaiton Counseling Program at UALR, is a fully accredited 54 hour online graduate degree program that seeks to prepare rehabilitation counseling professionals to provide direct services and resource coordination for individuals with disabilities that are seeking to re-enter the labor market.
The Rehabilitation Counseling Program is offered in an eighteen month sequence through web based courses that are accessed online. Our students review lectures, participate in asynchronous class discussions, and take exams completely online. Students are admitted to either full time or part time study. A primary objective of the Master of Arts in Counseling with emphasis in Rehabilitation Counseling Program is to permit graduates to qualify for national certification as rehabilitation counselors (CRC).
The Master of Arts in Counseling with emphasis in Rehabilitation Counseling program at UALR is fully accredited by the Council on Rehabilitation Education (CORE).
The mission of the Rehabilitation Counseling Program at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock (UALR) is to promote quality rehabilitation services for individuals with disabilities through a pre-service and in-service education program which provides qualified, certified rehabilitation counselors to work in public and private agencies.
The primary goals of the Rehabilitation Counseling Program are:
- Provide a comprehensive graduate degree curriculum that prepares students to provide high quality services to individuals with disabilities.
- Promote values, skills and knowledge that results in genuine commitment to human rights, professionalism, personal integrity and ethical practice.
- Advance the basic philosophical tenets of rehabilitation.
- Provide a high quality, accessible learning experience for each student which allows program graduates to gain national certification as a rehabilitation counselor (CRC).
