Options for faculty
a) Refer interested students to
the Internship
Coordinator Dr. David Mastin
b) Act as an Internship Supervisor
Procedures for acting as an internship
supervisor:
1) Review the following documents
-Standard Internship Syllabus
-Internship Site Application
-Internship Mentor Contract
-Internship Individualized Instruction Contract
2) Provide your student with a syllabus and ask your
student to carefully read it
3) Determine whether you student has
selected an internship site
If yes-
Determine whether this site has a
completed and approved Internship Site Application on file with
the internship coordinator
if true- provide your student with a Internship Mentor
Contract to be completed by the internship site
mentor and returned to you
if false- provide your student with an Internship Site
Application to be completed by the internship mentor and
returned to the internship coordinator
If no- refer your student to the
Psychology
Internship Student Page (http://www.ualr.edu/psycinfo/stud1a.html)
and the
Psychology
Internship Site Resource Page (http://www.ualr.edu/psycinfo/sites1a.html).
Return to number three above once your student has selected
an internship site.
4) Have your student complete an Internship
Individualized Instruction Contract
5) Make midterm contact with your student's
internship mentor
-formally via a Mid-Term Internship Mentor
Feedback Form
-informally via phone, letter, or in-person
6) Make midterm contact with your student
7) Make end-term contact with your student's
internship mentor using the End-Term Internship Mentor Feedback
Form
8) Make end-term contact with your student
9) Evaluate your student as per the
Internship Individualized Instruction Contract
