Arkansas State Police Internship Program

 

Eligibility Requirements

 

1.         The applicant must be enrolled as a full time student in a bachelor’s or master’s degree program from a university or college, and be receiving credit for the internship.

 

2.         Applicant must have a minimum 2.95 GPA

 

3.                  Applicant must provide own transportation to and from the designated internship location

 

4.         The application must be postmarked by  the second Friday of October if applying for a Spring internship, or the second Friday of March if applying for the Fall internship.  Summer internships are not granted unless for a special exception.  The application package  must contain:

 

a.                   Resume

b.                  Official Transcript from University

c.                   Two (2) letters of recommendation, one must be from a school official

d.                  Completed Internship Application Form

e.                   Release of Information Authorization in order for a background check to be run.

 

5.  Notification of acceptance into the internship program will be announced the second

     week of December for the Spring internship, and the first week of May for the     

     Summer internship.

    

6.      All applicants are not guaranteed an internship position.  This is a competitive position(s).  Those deemed qualified will be called for an interview.

 

7.      All interns must successfully pass a background investigation and pre-employment drug screening, and may be subject to random drug screenings.

 

8.      All applicants must be  able to serve 120-150 hrs during the semester.
