Mission:
The Psychology Department strives to be excellent in teaching, scholarship, and service.  We accomplish this by applying psychological knowledge, skills, and tools to further human welfare and by producing well-trained students.  

Departmental Goals:

1. The Psychology Department will strive for excellence in applying psychological skills, tools, and knowledge about psychology and will be producers of these techniques and knowledge.
2. The Psychology Department will play an active and productive role in helping the University as a whole, especially when applying psychological expertise.
3. The Psychology Department will seek to bring external funds into the department and/or the community.
4. The Psychology Department will form connections with internal and external stakeholders.
5. The Psychology Department will support excellent teaching and will encourage student participation in the learning process.  Students will be well-trained in the tools of psychology in one or more of these areas: program evaluation, health psychology, research methodology, statistics.
6. The Psychology Department will continuously evaluate the quality of its efforts and use the data to make improvements.
