Tuition discount forms for the Spring term were due Friday, January 16, 2009 and are no longer being accepted.
Forms received after the last day of Late Registration will NOT be approved. Late fees/penalties are assessed after Regular Registration ends. View Academic Calendar.
Tuition discounts are available to full-time employees of the University of Arkansas, their spouses, and their dependents. The discount applies to tuition only; all applicable fees must be paid in full for enrollment. The discount applies to credit classes only; audits are on a space available basis.
UALR Employees must have supervisor approval, and may take only one (1) course during normal working hours in lieu of his/her lunch hour. The total discount shall not exceed 11 credit hours per Fall/Spring term and 3 credit hours during a summer term or a total of 6 credit hours for all summer terms combined.
Employee tuition discount applies to any undergraduate or graduate (master's-level) course, except for courses in the Executive Master of Business Administration (EMBA), the on-line Master of Arts in Rehabilitation Counseling (MARC), Law (JD), and all doctoral programs (EdS, EdD, PhD).
Please note this change: UALR employees will pay 5% of tuition (rather than $5 per credit hour) starting Fall 2005. UALR will phase in the increase to 10%, charging 5% Fall 2005, moving to 8% for Spring 2006, and then to 10% Fall 2006 and thereafter. Other UA employees still pay 30% tuition (a 70% discount) at UALR.
Spouses and dependent children may take up to 132 undergraduate credit hours at 50% of tuition at the employee's campus or at 60% of full tuition at any other UA System campus. Graduate courses are not eligible for spouse or dependent discounts.
Download and complete the latest tuition discount form (see forms above). UALR employees will have their employment verified by the Provost's Office. All other campuses must have employment verified by a human resources officer at the employee's place of work before being submitted to the UALR Provost's Office for verification of program eligibility. The Provost's Office will send the form to the Cashier's office to apply the discount. Employee tuition discount forms must have a supervisor's signature and dean/director's signature if applicable. A listing of courses is no longer required.
