November 17, 2004–This meeting was an open forum for any female to come and discuss pertienent topics or anything on her mind from women’s health to personal relationships.
October 20, 2004–This entertaining, informative, upbeat one-person program was presented by award-winning actor and writer, Dr. Nancy Hendricks. It took a look back at what has been called the most colorful campaign in American history, when Hattie Caraway and Huey “Kingfish” Long took Arkansas by storm in 1932. The program also contrasted what has changed and what is the same for women in politics between that time and the present.

April 14, 2004–When her friend and Alpha Phi sorority sister Shannon McNamara was violently murdered in her own apartment near Eastern Illinois University campus, Erin Weed decided that college women needed to know more about fighting back against potential attackers. From the loss was born Girls Fight Back!, a program teaching women to trust their gut in threatening situations and how to effectively fend off a rapist or other attacker.
March 9, 2004–Eleanor Clift, contributing editor of Newsweek and author of several political books, will spoke at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock on Tuesday, March 9, at 4 p.m. in Stella Boyle Smith Concert Hall. She discussed the women’s suffrage movement and her latest book, Founding Sisters, which is the basis for the new HBO release, Iron Jawed Angels starring Hillary Swank. She also discussed the current state of politics and her experience covering the election.
In addition to her latest book, Clift also authored Madam President: Shattering the Last Glass Ceiling, which provides a background of female political history from the earliest days of female political influence to the present day political environment where women play a crucial part in political leadership and support. She speculates on the future role of women in politics and examines key players such as Elizabeth Dole and Hilary Clinton who will have an impact in the future. She examines the prospect of a female President and provides her readers with twelve essential tips for women seeking higher office.
Clift’s experience as a White House, congressional and political correspondent has made her a regular panelist on the nationally syndicated talk show, The McLaughlin Group. She has appeared on many national television shows including ABC’s Nightline, Good Morning America and CNN’s Crossfire.
A contributing editor to MORE Magazine, Clift has appeared as herself in the feature films Dave, Rising Sun, Independence Day, Murder at 1600 and the television comedy Murphy Brown.
