The Physical Plant has implemented a new maintenance management system. FAMIS is a software suite that helps the Physical Plant to better manage, maintain and operate the campus facilities. We have implemented several modules of the FAMIS software suite that provides features for managing all aspects of corrective maintenance, preventative maintenance, alterations, renovations, inventory control and campus space.
FAMIS Self Service has also been implemented and introduced to the campus community. Self Service provides a method of communication between the Physical Plant and the campus community via the Internet. All people associated with the campus, including personnel and students, with an active UALR NetID can enter their own work requests online. They can also query the database for the status of their requests.
FAMIS has also provided the ability for the Physical Plant in interface directly with Banner. This interface allows the Plant to bill customers for work orders and Central Stores purchases from within the system.
