MUED 5292 Research Techniques in Music Education
Course Syllabus - Spring 2003
Instructor: Dr. Pamela Pike

Objectives:

The purpose of this course is to provide the student with the essential tools necessary to conduct basic research in music and in music education and to arm the student with ample knowledge enabling her to effectively evaluate research studies that may be found in current music education journals.

Reserve Materials:

Throughout the semester, Dr. Pike will place resource materials on reserve at Ottenheimer Library. Perusal and/or detailed reading of these materials will be required both for written assignments and for in-class discussions.


Evaluation:

  50% Written assignments & reading preparation for weekly meetings with Dr. Pike
  50% Final research project (topic to be decided upon after February 19, 2002 but before March 12, 2003 ).
