MUED 4192 – Learning Theories

Objectives:
The purpose of this introductory course on learning theories is to familiarize the student with the basic theories of which teachers need to be aware. Throughout the semester, students will explore how to engage a student, based on the readings and discussions that take place each week.

Additional Requirements:
A subscription to Keyboard Companion Magazine.
A student membership in MTNA.
Reserve Materials:
Dr. Pike will place materials on reserve in the library and/or make her own reference materials available as needed throughout the semester for certain reading assignments, projects, or for general reference.
Written Assignments:
Periodically, there will be written assignments based upon suggested reading and discussions during class time.
Evaluation: 40% Preparation for weekly discussions during class
40% Written assignments
20% Final written examination
