UALR Music Faculty Noon-Time Concert

Free Lunchtime Concert by UALR Music Faculty!

Here’s your chance to hear members of the UALR Music Faculty in their annual free lunchtime concert. On Thursday, September 18th at 12:15 PM, in the Stella Boyle Smith Recital Hall in the Fine Arts Building, faculty members Edward Crafts, Rolf Groesbeck, Naoke Hauktani, Linda Holzer, Kathy Kilgo, Trudy Kincaid, Michael Underwood and Andy Wen, will perform selections for voice, piano, woodwinds, brass and percussion. The concert will conclude at approximately 1 PM.
If you haven’t heard the outstanding musicians on the UALR Music Faculty, this is a great opportunity to enjoy their talents and enrich your day with beautiful music. If you regularly attend the Music Department concerts, you know what a treat is in store for you!

Istanpitta Early Music Ensemble -Artspree Event

Istanpitta performs music of the 10th to 14th century Middle Ages including many traditional Middle Eastern dances. The ensemble consists of 3-5 musicians playing a variety of period instruments including oud, lute, saz, early percussion, shawms, recorders, transverse flutes, krummhorns, vielles, Medieval harp, bagpipes and voice. The ensemble performs live at formal concert venues, universities as well as fairs and festivals

“IT’S TIME FOR UALR” features student singers

The September 11th launch event of the UALR Comprehensive Campaign, “It’s Time for UALR”, featured entertainment by three UALR student singers. Blake Wicker, Satia Spencer, and Shea Williamson performed selections from Porgy and Bess, Carmen and Candide. Faculty member Kristina Marinova-Pavlov lent her talents as pianist.
