Joe Vick
Bass

Joe Vick has spent most of his career in Arkansas as a double bassist and string teacher. He received a Bachelors Degree in Music Education from U.A.L.R. and a Masters Degree in Double Bass Performance from Memphis State University. He has performed regularly with many symphony orchestras throughout the state and region and is currently in his third decade performing with the Arkansas Symphony's double bass section.

As a jazz musician, he has performed with several international recognition musicians such as Mel Torme, Barney Kessell, Herb Ellis, James Williams, Randy Brecker, Eddie Harris, Mose Allison, and Bobby Shew. Mr. Vick teaches jazz, acoustic and electric bass for the UALR Music Department and string orchestra for the Pulaski County Special School District where he has received the “Outstanding Achievement in Fine Arts" and “The Good Apple” awards. He is the house bassist for the “Monday Night Jazz” series held each Monday night at the Afterthought in Little Rock.
