Heather Crafts holds a Bachelor Degree in Voice from the prestigious Curtis Institute of Music and a Master’s
Degree from Indiana University.
Ms. Crafts has enjoyed an extensive career as an opera and concert singer in
the United States, Europe and Japan. She has performed over 30 operatic roles, including Rosalinda in Die
Fledermaus, Mimi in La Boheme, and Donna Elvira in Don Giovanni. A native New Yorker, Ms. Crafts is also in
demand as an opera stage director and teacher. She has served as the General Director of the Maryland Lyric
Opera and as the Artistic Director of the Jacksonville Opera. In addition to directing the standard repertoire, she
specializes in the production of sacred operas, including Good Tidings by Dan Locklair, Saul by Handel, and
Noyes Fludde by Benjamin Britten. She has taught at Molloy College, Union College, Hood College, and served
as Chairperson of the Arts Department at the American International School in Budapest, Hungary.
