The Guitar Program at UALR is one of the most diverse and comprehensive in the region, offering courses in Pop Guitar, Guitar Reading and Guitar Ensemble, and private study in Classical, Jazz and Electric Guitar.The Pop Guitar courses introduce students to the language and tools of music in pop/rock/commercial styles, from beginning chord accompaniment through improvised lead guitar.

The Guitar Reading classes are designed to systematically introduce the entire guitar fretboard in a progressive manner that integrates the study of the guitar with the development of music fundamentals.
