Community Outreach

The community outreach component of the Mindfulness-Based Campus-Community Health Program serves to demystify mindfulness, illustrating how it is practiced, clarifying its relationship to health and quality of life, and promoting the availability of the formal curriculum on campus for those who are interested.  The goal of the community outreach component of the program is to achieve a broad and accessible distribution of information in the community, and a growing regional familiarity with the Mindfulness-Based Campus-Community Health Program at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock .

Presentations on mindfulness have been given by faculty affiliated with the Mindfulness-Based Campus-Community Health Program in such places as:

            The Arkansas Governors School

            Birth Works (Natural childbirth center)

            Area churches

            K-12 schools

Students who take both  Mindfulness Meditation and Health  and Meditation Techniques can sign up for a service learning internship with Dan Holland to participate in community outreach activities and help develop community outreach materials.
