What is Marketing?

Marketing is the heart of business.

All firms that are not manufacturing the products they sell, such as retailers and wholesalers, are pure marketing institutions. All other firms depend on marketing for:

  • Advertising and promotions
  • Logistics (including transportation and storage)
  • Market research
  • Pricing strategies
  • Product and service planning and development
  • Purchasing
  • Sales and Sales Management

The UALR Marketing Department offers courses in these and all other areas of marketing.
