Dr. Chapman has worked as a teacher, actor, and director over the course of his career. In 1998 he won the Ted and Virginia Bailey Faculty Excellence Award in Teaching at UA Little Rock. For his work as a director, he won the Best Production of the Year for Brigadoon, and won the Director's Choice Award for The Colored Museum. A native of Fresno, California, he joined the faculty at UA Little Rock in 1975 as assistant professor of Speech Communication.
