Welcome to your 3rd week!  

Last week we learned about :

  • frequency distributions
  • range
  • frequency
  • how histograms, Stem-and-leaf displays, and frequency polygons are constructed
  • percentiles and percentile ranks
  • how to produce a SAS frequency output

This week we will:

  • compute the mean, mode, and median and learn about the relationship between them and which measure of central tendency is best for a given situation
  • learn what happens to the mean if a constant is added to or subtracted from every score or if every score is multiplied by or divided by a constant
  • examine outliers
  • construct a box-and-whisker plot
