Award-winning in both broadcast and print journalism, Stephen Koch has been researching Arkansas popular culture for more than a decade. His weekly radio program, "Arkansongs," launched on KUAR in 2001 and is now syndicated on National Public Radio affiliates across the state.
A longtime editor, Koch also has written for a variety of magazines, journals and other publications -- and writes a companion "Arkansongs" newspaper column. He has spoken on the topic of Arkansas music and history before the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, St. Louis' City Museum, the Arkansas Historical Association and the Central Arkansas Library System, and consulted on such projects as the Old State House Museum's "Our Own Sweets Sounds" exhibits.
Koch's role in the annual Louis Jordan Tribute events has been recognized by the U.S. Library of Congress and the Rock and Roll allof Fame.
