Self Analysis

I’ve always been interested in journalism and also in sports. My ultimate goal as a professional would be to work as a sports journalist. Other professional goals are to find an internship for next summer if possible, get some experience in the field and start working my way up after I graduate.

My educational goals are to become skilled at the practice of broadcast journalism. Become a good field reporter able to go out and find interesting stories. Participate more in class discussions. Develop into a responsible and assertive reporter.

One of my strengths is that I’m a very hard worker, willing to go the extra mile to get things done. I am responsible and respectful towards others. I’m a careful listener and always pay attention to what others have to say. I am also fluid in Spanish, something that can be of help in the future for me.

Sometimes I tend to be quiet and not participate during class, I would like to improve on this and become more involved. I can make some mistakes on punctuation and grammar. I need to become more up-to-date with current events in the news.

Rule 1: Life is not fair – get used to it.

This is so true. Stuff happens to us all the time that we don’t expect. I believe that he means that you can’t wait for everything to fall into place, and work out for the best all of the time, because it won’t. This is a very simple and true statement. You have to be prepared for everything that life throws your way, and learn to accept it. This is the only way that you’ll be able to succeed.

Rule 4: If you think your teacher is tough, wait till you get a boss.

To me this means that teachers are tough on us because they want to challenge us and help us be the best that we can be. Teachers are not in it for the money, they’re in it for the students. In the workplace your boss won’t be worried about helping you become a better person, but rather about making a profit.
