    History
A brief history of the WCA e-mail list and Conference.

    Conference
The Eighth Annual Working-class Academics Conference will be held during July 22-25, 2003 at Brunel University. This interdisciplinary conference provides a forum for support, networking, and theorizing about the production of knowledge in academia, assumptions that structure our interaction with colleagues, and our interaction with the world at large, from the standpoint of being an academic from a working class or working poor social background. Visit here for first-person information about the conference site.

    The Working-class Academics E-mail list:
The working-class academics listserv is dedicated to the discussion of issues pertaining to being an academic from a working-class background. These issues may be personal, research oriented, classroom oriented, or societal oriented. Before this list went "public", we discussed such things as "coming-out" re: our class backgrounds when teaching, reactions of non-working class colleagues to class differences, etc.
