What is the ISM Workshop? |
| | The ISM Workshop will be hosted by the UALR Department of Chemistry and run by Dr. Jerry Darsey and Dr. Robert Belford on July 26-29, 2004. This workshop is a 4 day event consisting of modules that touch on diverse topics such as basic HTML commands, understanding Java applets, running Carnegie Mellon's Virtual Chemistry Laboratory, creating and running custom built quizzes, an overview of the Interactive Nanoscale Visualization in the Sciences and Engineering Education (INVSEE) project, introduction to NASA's ROVer Ranch project, a tour of UALR's planetarium, and more! In addition, we have created a dynamic website, the ISM Workshop Links page, through which educators can post usefull links that can be viewed by anyone on the web.
To learn more, please continue browsing the ISM Workshop website and feel free to download our project proposal. |

What can I find on this website? |
| | The ISM Workshop website is designed to function as a portal to educational resources on the World Wide Web. It is designed to benefit both instructors and students. It offers a quick and convenient gateway through which educators state and nation wide can gather educational material and knowledge.
This website is structured based on the Modules offered in the workshop. Each Day follows a specified theme such as HTML, Quizzes, or NASA. By clicking on each Day at the top of this page in the menu bar, you can navigate to each module's activities for that day.
The workshop is implementing a powerful teaching tool that allows educators all over the world to share their work, tools, and discoveries with other educators and students. The ISM Workshop Links page contains links about lab safety, writing skills, math skills, and much more! Dr. Jerry Darsey, Dr. Robert Belford, and many other faculty and students at UALR dedicated to education are current contributors to the links page. We welcome anyone with excellent educational websites in their Favorites menu or educational websites they happen to stumble upon while surfing the Internet to share and contribute to education world wide!
