Center for Public Collaboration

Public Dialog Project

The CPC brings community members together in non-adversarial deliberative forums where potentially divisive public issues can be explored constructively.

In 2006 the CPC became part of the National Issues Forum network and established the Public Dialog Project. As part of this project the CPC offers training in skills in to convene, facilitate, and record deliberative forums.

In addition to offering facilitator training the CPC sponsors public forums using the NIF model and study materials. National Issues Forums are based on the premise that informed and reasoned public discourse is the foundation of the democratic process.

The 2007 training and forums focused on the topic of immigration. CPC’s Start-Up Advisory Committee selected this topic because it is of great importance to Arkansas as well as to the nation.
