NEIGHBORHOOD LEADERSHIP ACADEMY – UALR’s Office of Community Engagement partners with the City of Little Rock to provide a ten-class certificate program in neighborhood leadership. Offered twice a year, the program is designed to build the capacity of neighborhood leaders through interactive course work in the following topics: strategic planning, association management, working with city hall, conflict mediation, crime prevention, grantwriting and fundraising, youth programs, desktop publishing, and marketing. The mission of the Academy is to strengthen the capacity of neighborhood-based organizations and empower residents to become advocates for and instruments of positive change in their neighborhoods and our community.
