Welcome to the Institute of Government
The Institute of Government at UALR helps improve the quality of government and nonprofit agency management in Arkansas through its major functions of education, research, technical assistance, and training.The accredited Master of Public Administration program has six fulltime faculty members and has graduated over 400 students who serve in key positions in state and local government and nonprofit agencies. Also available is the MPA/JD concurrent degree program with the UALR Bowen School of Law, plus graduate certificate programs in nonprofit management and conflict mediation.
Our large Survey Research Center has expertise in all aspects of survey development, execution, and analysis, and utilizes this knowledge to serve government and nonprofit agencies. The Center for Public Collaboration works with clients in consensus building and collaborative governance. The Center for Nonprofit Organizations helps improve the capacity of nonprofit agencies throughout Arkansas.
Integrated into the Institute is the Arkansas Public Administration Consortium that administers various management certificate programs for government and volunteer administrators across the state.
