Apply online by going to the following website: apply.ualr.edu. Please fill out every box that has a red star beside it. Write down and remember your security questions on the third screen (if perhaps you have to stop in the middle of the application, or need to change something on the application at a later date).  It is important that you use a valid email address. You will be sent an email reminder with your security information as well as an email upon completion of your application.  It is important to print out and keep your Student ID number that is given at the end of the application.

To successfully complete your application to UALR, please submit the following:

Transferring to UALR

1. Students transferring from another institution within the United States must submit a Transfer In Request Form completed by the applicant and by the International Student Advisor of the institution the applicant is currently attending. SEVIS file must also be transferred electronically by the previous institution to UALR.
2. Transfer students who are non-native speakers of English must submit proof of English proficiency or graduate from UALR’s Intensive English Language Program.
3. Students transferring 12 or fewer student semester credit hours will be required upon arrival on campus to take the Basic Skills Test (COMPASS) for academic placement purposes.
4. Students transferring 12 or fewer student semester credit hours must provide original secondary and post secondary education records with official English translations using one of the following agencies with a course by course evaluation of all post-secondary non-U.S. transcripts. Students may use the services of any agency that is a current member of NACES. For details visit National Association of Credential Evaluation Services.��

       Students Transferring 12 student semester hours or more from a U.S. college \

       or University need only submit an official college transcript.

1. All transfer students must have a cumulative GPA (grade point average) of at least 2.00 from their previous college or University to be considered for admission.

To successfully complete your application to UALR, please submit the following:

Required for the issuance of an I-20:     
1. A non-refundable U.S. $40.00 application fee (please make checks payable to UALR).
2. Original transcripts from current non-U.S. institution, with an official English translation and a course by course evaluation from any NACES certified agency sent to:
   1. If you are transferring from an institution INSIDE the U.S., please send your official transcripts to the Office of Admissions.2. If you are transferring from an institution OUTSIDE the U.S., please send your official transcripts to the Office of International Services.
3. Demonstrate proof of English proficiency in one of these ways:
       
   Present a score of at least 525 (paper‐based), or 71 (iBT) on the TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language) earned within the last two years. UALR Code is: 6368.
   Present score of at least 6 on the IELTS, earned within the last two years.
   Take the Michigan Test (formerly known as the Institutional English Language test), administered on campus. Please contact the Intensive English Language Program for specific information by calling (501) 569-3467; the test must be taken before class registration.
   Complete the UALR Intensive English Language Program through the final level (see IELP section).
   Completed English Composition I and II at a regionally accredited post secondary U.S. institution with a C grade or better; or
   If the student attended school in the U.S. for the last six years, he or she must meet all of our specific regular freshman requirements for admission

    

    

    

    

4. Completed and signed certification of Financial Support for at least U.S. $22,000.00 with attached documentation (examples include, bank statements, letter of sponsorship, scholarship letters, etc.). Download the Financial Responsibility Form.
5. Completed Transfer In Request Form. SEVIS file must also be transferred electronically by the previous institution to UALR (applies only to students transferring to UALR from an institution in the U.S.).

Required to complete your application to UALR (may be submitted upon arrival):  

   
1. Copy of Visa (may be submitted to OIS after arriving to the U.S.).
2. Proof of immunization (obtained at Health Services at UALR after arrival to UALR if not completed before arrival).
