Fitness Management
Prerequisite: Biology 1411, 1412, HSCI 3302 or the equivalent. This course is designed to train students in the theory and skills required for the administration of fitness programs in industry, YMCAs, rehabilitation clinics, and similar facilities.
Emphasis will be on standards and guidelines for facility staffing, programming, and equipment. Overview and discussion of organizational structure, client screening, emergency/safety procedures, and legal issues.

COURSE OBJECTIVES:
Each student enrolled in the course will:
Experience actual work and/or training in administering a fitness program.
Gain knowledge of major health/fitness certifications available
Understand standards that facilities must meet in order to provide a safe environment for users of all physical activity programs
