Generally private rooms are not available in the residence hall. It usually fills up, and any private rooms that may be available go to returning students. The new University Commons Apartments feature all private bedrooms.
Students can write in a same gender roommate choice on their housing application. In this case, both students would need to choose each other. If no roommate is selected, the housing office will assign a roommate based on mutual preferences from the housing application, such as floor choice. Generally, students from the same hometown are not placed together unless they choose each other. Race, religion or national origin are not considered when placing roommates.
No. The Housing fee is for room only. There is a kitchenette with a microwave in each suite to allow for some meals to be prepared in the room. However, the UALR dining services operate a full service dining facility in the Donaghey Student Center. A debit card plan is available for student convenience.
Students are allowed to park their own vehicle in the gated lot at the hall for no additional cost. Designated resident parking is located all around the housing complex. A blue permit is required and is issued at chaeck-in.
University Commons and University Court apartments remain open. The residence hall fee however does not cover break periods. students in the residence hall wishing to stay during Thanksgiving, Winter or Spring BReak may do so for an additional fee.
