The Witness Project: Co-Creator and Co-Director
Established in 1991 as a culturally-sensitive, community based cancer education program of African-Americans. African-American cancer survivors and lay health educators tell their story about dealing with breast or cervical cancer.
The HELP Program:
Author of HELP (Health Education Learning Program). A computerized self-paced educational program designed to aid health educators promote effective communication and improve compliance within the community. Topics addressed include basic concepts and theories for the health educator plus information about low literacy, self-esteem, and adult learners.
An Educational Consultant using 4MAT model:
The 4MAT system is a model for teaching based on research from many fields including findings in learning styles, right and left brain dominance, creativity, effective management, art, and movement/dance. It is the theoretical basis of the Witness Project and the HELP Program.
Sabbatical Research Project for 1994-1995:
Health Education in the Caribbean-Preventive Medicine in Saint Lucia. Funded by Earthwatch, Inc. Continues research.
