Calling all History majors: the History Department has gone Facebook! Join our Facebook group, History at UALR, to stay informed of department happenings, and to keep in touch with faculty and other History majors.�
The History Department is pleased to welcome three new faculty members to our ranks. Soon-to-be Dr. Jeff Kyong-McClain, Assistant Professor, comes to us from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champagne and will be teaching classes in Modern China as well as the History of World Civilization. Dr. Jess Porter, Assistant Professor of Geography, will offer courses in physical, cultural, and urban geography. Mr. Aaron Horton, a doctoral candidate in History at Louisiana State University and Visiting Assistant Professor, will teach History of Civilization I and II.
The History Department will offer three “Surviving History” workshops during the first full week of classes. These workshops will offer hands-on exercises in effective note-taking, quick and concise textbook reading, effective and persuasive writing, that will help students survive and thrive in core history courses. Students are invited to attend one of the following workshops:

Tuesday, 25 August, 3:00 pm - Stabler Hall 111
Wednesday, 26 August, 1:00 pm - Stabler Hall 111
